Mr. Ladd began the practice of law in 1985 in the areas of real estate and business transactional matters. As Vice President and General Counsel of two major Southern California real estate development companies and an associate with the San Diego law firm of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, Mr. Ladd gained extensive experience in complex large-scale real estate leasing, financing and purchase/ sale matters. Mr. Ladd also has a niche practice representing physicians and medical groups in organizing and operating medical and dental corporations.
In 1995, Mr. Ladd formed the Law Offices of Jon K. Ladd, ACP to focus on clients seeking large firm sophistication with small firm personalized service. The Law Offices of Jon K. Ladd became Business and Real Estate Law Group in 2009, when W. Michael Young who joined the firm in 2002, became a partner with the firm.
Mr. Ladd has extensive experience in restaurant, shopping center, office and industrial development, financing, operation, leasing and sales as well as general corporate, medical and dental corporation law. Previous restaurant franchise clients include Jack in the Box, Denny’s, and Corner Bakery Cafe. Mr. Ladd is unmarried, has one adult son and is an Instrument Rated Private Pilot.
Mr. Ladd received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics/Business) from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan (1982), and his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan (1985). He was admitted to the California State Bar on October 2, 1986. Mr. Ladd is a member of the American and San Diego County Bar Associations.
